About Acmena

Combining our skills and expertise to provide high value to our customers.

systems engineering specialists

Founded by the three directors, Sue Milner, Dr Katherine Eastaughffe and Graeme Cutler, we combined our engineering experience and specialist disciplines in human factors, safety assurance and program management to create one company that offers an integrated consultancy and provides an holistic service to our customers.

Where Does the Name Acmena Come From?

The word Acmena [ak-MEE-nah] is derived from the Ancient Greek word “Acme“, meaning perfection, highest point, critical moment.

Acmena is also a genus of shrubs and small trees native to Australia (generally known as Lilly Pillies).  The company was given its name to symbolise its origins in the green, leafy suburbs of Brisbane where Acmena Smithii are commonly found, and our logo includes a representation of the flower.
