Acmena Senior Consultant and human factors specialist, Miranda Cornelissen, will present a poster at the International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care on Friday 16 April 2021.

Miranda’s presentation, ‘Applying a Systems Approach to Human Factors in Healthcare Design and Investigations’, focuses on the benefits of considering humans to be just one part of a wider sociotechnical system. Miranda is passionate about implementing human factors and systems thinking in healthcare and has previously led such initiatives at Safer Care Victoria while continuing to deliver human factors services to Acmena’s clients nationwide.

Hosted by the United States Human Factors and Ergonomics Society between April 12-16, the virtual symposium will provide a valuable opportunity for human factors and health care professionals to discuss emerging issues related to hospital environments, digital health, medical and drug delivery devices, patient safety, education and simulation.

Miranda’s poster will be available to registered attendees throughout the event, and she will be part of the Q&A session held between 4-5am AEST. For more information on the symposium, visit www.hcs2021.org.
