Acmena Senior Human Factors Consultant, Miranda Cornelissen, will be a guest speaker at the Patient Safety Awareness Week forum on Tuesday 10 March at the Alfred hospital in Melbourne.

Organised by Alfred Health, one of Victoria’s biggest healthcare providers, the event is aimed at professionals in key quality and safety roles across the health services sector.

Titled, ‘Why should I consider human factors in my patient safety efforts?’ Miranda’s presentation will outline human factors principles and how they can be applied to service planning, unit planning, equipment purchasing and incident investigation in order to improve efficiency and patient safety in the healthcare industry.

Miranda is an incident investigation and system safety specialist with over 13 years’ experience in health, transport and emergency management.
