Acmena is delighted to announce Campbell Sims as its new Head of Discipline for Systems and Safety Assurance.
Campbell is a highly respected Chartered engineer with 15 years’ experience in safety assurance in the oil and gas, and rail industries.
Joining Acmena in 2020, he played a key role in delivering the safety assurance program for the Cross River Rail – Tunnels, Stations and Development package before he was engaged to provide leadership and guidance to Queensland Rail’s signalling team where he was responsible for improving processes and compliance to both EN 50126/8/9 and internal standards.
Taking over from Andrew Gabler as head of discipline, Campbell will be responsible for the continuous improvement of Acmena’s systems and safety assurance approach.
He will also be responsible for mentoring team members, directing the Centre of Excellence and working with other discipline heads to ensure all disciplines are integrated as effectively as possible thereby improving the value of our services to clients.
“I am delighted in to take over as Head of Discipline for System Safety Assurance,” Campbell said.
“Having worked across various projects over the years, it’s incredibly rewarding to now help shape the direction of our technical safety capability and lead a team of highly dedicated and competent engineers.”
“I am excited for Campbell to take on this role,” Acmena Queensland State Manager, Andrew Gabler, said.
“As the previous Head of Discipline, I always appreciated his enthusiasm and contribution to the Centre of Excellence and am looking forward to seeing how it will flourish under his leadership.”
