He is experienced across the full project lifecycle — from concept development and detailed design through to operations — and offers a versatile combination of systems engineering and safety assurance capability that makes him well suited to technically demanding, multi-stakeholder environments.

Asim is currently engaged on Cross River Rail as a systems assurance engineer, where his responsibilities span hazard analysis, risk assessment, requirements management and verification support across railway infrastructure, stabling facilities and the rail corridor. He is responsible for conducting Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), hazard identification, preparing and maintaining system-level risk assessments, and managing the hazard log in IBM DOORS ensuring full traceability from system-level hazards through to detailed requirements.

He has experience in developing safety cases to EN 50129 standards, and conducting SFAIRP (So Far As Is Reasonably Practicable) arguments with appropriate engineering controls identified in collaboration with the client and Queensland Rail. He also manages project change requests, supports stakeholder engagement for assurance integration, and assesses Construction RFIs from a safety, standards and human factors perspective.

Prior to joining Acmena, Asim supported the development of several Information and Communication Technology solutions for the Australian Defence Force. His work covered the full systems engineering lifecycle for mission planning systems — including requirements specification, statutory requirements management, hazard analysis, configuration management, MBSE-based verification and validation, and interface design. He applied traceability techniques across multiple aircraft types and liaised with subject matter experts and stakeholders to translate complex client needs into compliant, documented engineering outcomes.
