She has supported major rail infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to operations, with expertise spanning systems engineering, systems safety, safety assurance, hazard management, systems integration and RAM.
Lai has a strong track record in leading safety strategy, hazard management and safety assurance delivery. Her experience includes developing and managing Safety Assurance Plans, Safety Plans, Hazard Logs and Safety Assurance Reports, as well as leading multidisciplinary safety and risk workshops. She has worked extensively across operational and interface risk, hazard identification and analysis, risk assessment and the identification and reduction of risks SFAIRP.
Her project experience includes Cross River Rail – Rail, Integration and Systems Package, Sydney Metro West, the Byford Rail Extension and Transport for NSW’s More Trains, More Services program. Lai has also worked as a Systems Lead applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods, and has supported requirements management and traceability using IBM DOORS.
Lai brings strong experience working across engineering, operations and maintenance stakeholders, including in live brownfield rail environments. Her technical capabilities include systems engineering processes, safety assurance, RAM management, hazard identification and analysis, interface management, operational risk management, requirements management, MBSE, systems integration and configuration management.
