He offers strong expertise in requirements management, IBM DOORS Classic and DOORS Next, and verification and validation and experience in supporting major rail programs in Queensland and New South Wales as well as naval defence projects in the UK.

Matthew is highly proficient in the full IBM DOORS Next ecosystem, including schema development and management, requirements import and linking, dashboard creation, report building, requirement traceability matrices (RTMs) and baseline management. He has deployed and administered DOORS Next frameworks for multiple clients — including Queensland Rail, where he supported the rollout of the Queensland Rail Requirements Management Standard — and has built exportable, auto-updating RTM tools in Excel linked directly to DOORS source data to improve traceability and reduce manual overhead for project teams.

In verification and validation, Matthew has extensive experience collating, checking and linking V&V evidence from multi-source document management environments into DOORS Next, and producing Requirements Verification and Traceability Matrices (RVATMs) and V&V reports across preliminary design through to post-commissioning stages. He is experienced in test planning, factory and site acceptance testing, and the development of interface control documents and verification plans.

Matthew’s background also includes a strong grounding in naval defence systems engineering, where he worked on radar and sensor solutions for international naval clients. His work there spanned the full V-model lifecycle, from concept and requirements specification through to architecture design, wiring design, integration, and customer-witnessed acceptance testing across a range of military and marine standards — including electromagnetic compatibility, vibration, climatic and IP testing. This foundation gives Matthew a disciplined, standards-conscious approach to systems engineering that translates directly to the rigour demanded by safety-critical rail environments.

Matthew is currently providing requirements management and V&V support to the Cross River Rail – Rail, Systems and Integration package.
