He is currently engaged as requirements engineer on the Logan Gold Coast Faster Rail project, where he is responsible for IBM DOORS database administration, requirements traceability, verification and validation support, and workflow and change management processes including Project Change Requests (PCRs).
He has developed Python-based processes to automate data import and export in DOORS, improving data handling and system efficiency — and has applied similar automation approaches on Cross River Rail – Tunnels, Stations and Development (TSD) package, where custom Python macros were used to streamline reporting, data handling and tool integration for the systems engineering team. He is also proficient in Jazz Reporting Service (JRS) for requirements traceability reporting and project compliance monitoring.
Proficient in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Wilson also developed research-level expertise in the application of large language models (LLMs) to create efficiencies in requirements management processes and developing user interfaces to integrate open-source LLMs into existing systems engineering tools.
