She has a strong track record of delivering rail signalling projects through to commissioning, applying best-practice safety assessment techniques — including FMEA, FMECA, FTA, HAZOP, IHA, OSHA, and quantitative risk assessment — across the full project lifecycle.
Ya’nan’s technical expertise spans safety assurance planning, hazard analysis, safety case development, Independent Safety Assessment (ISA), requirements management using IBM DOORS, and systems engineering to CENELEC EN50126/50128/50129 standards. Her rail systems knowledge covers CBTC (onboard and wayside), interlocking systems (Smartlock 400GP), automatic train control (ATP, ATO, ATS), advanced train management systems, tunnels, and active level crossing systems.
At Acmena, Ya’nan has provided systems and safety assurance support across multiple packages of the Cross River Rail project — covering both the Tunnels, Stations and Development package and the Rail, Integration and Systems package — in addition to serving as Independent Safety Assessor on the Flinders Link project in Adelaide.
She has also led product safety assurance for a low-cost level crossing controller, managing the full suite of safety deliverables from development through to deployment at sites in Queensland and New South Wales. Ya’nan has supported the successful delivery of CBTC signalling safety assurance programs across multiple metro lines in China to CENELEC standards.
Experienced in requirements analysis and management using IBM DOORS, Ya’nan also has proven capability in stakeholder engagement and technical leadership.
