Congratulations to Acmena Senior Consultant, Luis Ayora Marin, on a successful appearance as guest lecturer at the University of Wollongong. 

Currently providing systems engineering and safety assurance support for the Cross River Rail project, Luis offered students enrolled in the Lifecycle and Risk Management course, and the Advanced Topics in Mechatronics course, valuable insight into how risk assessments and risk management are performed in industry.

“The lecture was centred on how Acmena provides a systems engineering approach to engineering safety throughout the V lifecycle in rail projects,” Luis said.

“I also provided the class with examples on how this is implemented on a SIL-rated system.”

Commenting on the benefit students gain in being exposed to the latest industry practices and being able to relate it to their current fields of study, Associate Research Fellow, Paul McMahon, said: “The students gained experience from a real-world case study on the application of systems engineering and risk management and gained an understanding of what is possible in their future careers.”
