A Chartered Systems Engineer, INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional, and TÜV Rheinland-certified Functional Safety Engineer, Daniel is recognised for innovative, high-quality delivery across complex, safety-critical programs in Australia and Europe.
His technical expertise spans Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements management, systems integration, verification and validation, configuration management, and systems engineering management planning. He is highly proficient in IBM DOORS Classic and DOORS Next Generation, MagicDraw and SysML, and works to standards including EN BS 50126, 50128, 50159, ISO 61508, and ISO 15288.
As Principal Systems Engineering Consultant on the Cross River Rail – Tunnels, Stations and Development Package, Daniel has led a high-performing team across configuration management, verification and validation, and requirements management programs since 2019. He authored the Systems Engineering Management Plan, Requirements Management Plan, Configuration Management Plan, and Verification and Validation Management Plan, and has been responsible for implementing a comprehensive assurance process compliant with ISO 15288:2015, EN 50126, and EN 50129.
Prior to this, he served as Lead Systems Engineer on the Queensland New Generation Rollingstock program, restructuring the requirements management platform in DOORS Classic to enable full V&V compliance with EN 50128. In the UK, Daniel served as Systems Engineering Manager at Hitachi Infocon on the Thameslink Traffic Management System for Network Rail — leading systems integration, change control, and commissioning of safety-critical automatic route setting systems — and as Lead System Architect on the Bombardier Electrostar (Class 387) and Aventra platform projects. Earlier in his career, as Technical Lead and System Architect at Sydac (Knorr-Bremse), he led global teams in developing high-fidelity railway simulators for train systems across the UK and Germany.
