Congratulations to Keryn Pauley and Andy Gabler on receiving the award for best paper at the Australian System Safety Conference in Adelaide.

Based on prior project experience, the joint paper titled, ‘Quantifying Human Reliability in Safety Analysis – How useful is it?’ explored how the reliability of humans as part of a system can be assessed and how that assessment, in turn, can be used to support safety arguments.

“Keryn and I really enjoyed the opportunity to present our paper,” said Acmena Principal Consultant, Andy Gabler. “We’re glad it resonated with the audience and generated some good discussions.”

Andrew Gabler has over 12 years’ experience in the Australasian rail sector and is currently engaged as the Systems and Safety Assurance Manager on Cross River Rail’s Rail, Stations and Development package. He is also Acmena’s Head of Discipline for Systems Assurance.

Keryn Pauley is a Principal Consulant and Head of Discipline for human factors. She is currently the human factors lead for the Cross River Rail – Rail, Integration and Systems package and is responsible for managing and integrating human factors activities across the $5.4b project.
