Andrew specialises in end-to-end systems assurance across the full V-model lifecycle, including safety case development, SIL allocation, hazard analysis (FFA, HHA, IHA), hazard log management, SRAC auditing, and independent safety assessor (ISA) liaison.

He has extensive experience demonstrating compliance with AS IEC 15288, EN50126, EN50128/EN50716, EN50129, and ONRSR requirements, and is highly regarded for his ability to translate complex safety obligations into practical engineering outcomes for design and construction teams.

His RAMS expertise spans the full scope of EN50126, EN50128/EN50716, and EN50129 requirements. This includes fault tree analysis (FTA), reliability block diagrams (RBDs), FMEA, RAM analysis, Safety Integrity (SIL) allocation/demonstration, FRACAS planning, and requirements allocation across traction power, signalling, train control, and tunnel ventilation systems.

Andrew has deep domain knowledge across Automatic Train Protection (ATP), European Train Control System (ETCS), Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC), Computer-Based Interlockings (CBI), Platform Screen Doors (PSD), Tunnel Ventilation Control Systems (TVCS), and rail electrification. He was responsible for  leading Queensland’s first rail tunnel and underground station assurance program for Cross River Rail.

Andrew’s project experience spans some of the most significant rail programs in the region. He has been the Systems and Safety Assurance Manager for the Cross River Rail CBGU Joint Venture and Systems and Safety Assurance Engineer for the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, in addition to Inland Rail Technical Advisor.

Andrew has also been the Project Assurance Manager on an international ETCS Level 1 deployment in Thailand,  the RAMS Engineer on Queensland Rail’s WESTECT II ATP and Trackside system upgrades and for Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 2 and Northwest Rail Line traction power systems. He has also provided RAMS support for Queensland Rail’s Wulkuraka Connection Works, NGR’s Wulkuraka Depot Signalling Systems, and Adelaide’s ETCS L1 deployment.
